The Cardinals had no turnover in their coaching staff this off-season, but they did lost a coach on the field on Friday when safety Rashad Johnson agreed to terms with the Titans on a one-year deal.
Johnson, a third-round pick of the Cardinals in 2009, started 30 games over the last two seasons. He had five interceptions last season, setting a career high and tying for the team lead.
Coaches and teammates often raved about Johnson's intelligence, and defensive coordinator James Bettcher often bounced ideas off Johnson while preparing game plans.
But Johnson's future with the Cardinals became tenuous when Coach Bruce Arians and General Manager Steve Keim said a goal this off-season was to become "longer" and more athletic at safety.
