Monday night’s slugfest between the Seahawks and 49ers packed so much drama and heightened intensity that it quickly became known as “The Game of the Year.”
“That was the craziest game I’ve ever been a part of,” Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson said after Seattle’s 27-24 overtime win. “It felt like an NFC Championship Game right there. Just back and forth, back and forth, two great teams going after it.”
The Cardinals sat and watched along with the rest of the country, but with one exception: With every twist and turn and big play after another, they visualized playing in such a game like that themselves as one of the NFC West’s heavyweights.
