A year after getting fired as offensive coordinator of the Denver Broncos and getting replaced by the quarterbacks coach, the same thing happened to Mike McCoy with the Cardinals on Friday following the team’s 45-10 loss to Denver on Thursday night.
McCoy was relieved on his duties as Arizona’s offensive coordinator just seven games into the season. Byron Leftwich, the Cardinals’ second-year quarterbacks coach, will assume the offensive coordinator role for Arizona.
Cardinals coach Steve Wilks will address the move at his previously scheduled press conference that will take place at approximately 1 p.m.
Last season, McCoy was let go by Denver following a 3-7 start and he was replaced by quarterbacks coach Bill Musgrave.
