In 2021, after JJ Watt surprised the NFL world by signing as an unrestricted free agent with the Arizona Cardinals, he was a daily fixture at the Cardinals’ training facility. He made it clear to Kyler Murray, DeAndre Hopkins and all of his new teammates that he signed with the Cardinals because he believed they could vie for the Lombardi Trophy.
For the past two off-seasons, Kyler Murray has been taking a page out of the JJ Watt playbook for conditioning, weight training and manifesting a team-galvanizing “Pied Piper” kind of impact on his teammates.
The day after the Cardinals suffered their brutal playoff loss to the Rams —- in spite of JJ Watt’s Herculean effort to rehab quickly enough from the torn-out shoulder he damaged in Week 7, while leading the Arizona Cardinals to an unprecedented 7-0 start which astonishingly enabled him to return for that playoff game —- word came quickly the next morning that JJ Watt was right back at the facility commencing his prep for the 2022 season.
