SAN FRANCISCO – The epilogue to quarterback Kurt Warner’s storybook football career can’t be written for at least another year.
Warner was not among the five modern-day candidates selected for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame during the selection meeting on Saturday.
He made the cut from 15 finalists down to 10 for the second consecutive year, a positive sign that he will one day be chosen for induction.
The five finalists selected are: Coach Tony Dungy, quarterback Brett Favre, linebacker/defensive end Kevin Greene, receiver Marvin Harrison and tackle Orlando Pace.
“There are no disappointments at this stage of my life,” Warner said via text after learning the news.
