The free agent story of cornerback Jerraud Powers took an interesting turn. After not receiving an offer from the Arizona Cardinals before free agency begins, perhaps he ends up returning after all.
According to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport, Powers is visiting the Cardinals Wednesday.
The Cardinals have been looking to add a cornerback in free agency, a veteran to add depth and give competition to Justin Bethel. Thus far, they have not signed anyone.
Around the league, there apparently has been tepid interest in the seven-year pro out of Auburn. He recently visited with the New York Giants and was given a reported offer of a $2 million contract for one season.
