MINNEAPOLIS – The Cardinals suspended their drilling operations a week ago long enough to beat the 49ers. They resumed their quest to reach rock bottom Sunday against the Vikings.
By the time they showed real interest in competing in the fourth quarter, the Cardinals trailed by 17 points. Quarterback Josh Rosen got hot in the fourth quarter as the Cardinals discovered that throwing the ball to Larry Fitzgerald is a good idea.
That helped make things interesting, but the Vikings prevailed, 27-17, providing proof there is such a thing as a 10-point blowout.
The debriefing of players and coach Steve Wilks afterward produced no new information, no different reasons for losing than what we’ve heard four other times this season.
