By all accounts, Cardinals running back David Johnson is a nice, diligent young man who is eager to please.
Coaches tell him to dive for the end zone with two hands on the ball. He does it.
Coaches tell him to stop bouncing runs outside. He does it.
That attitude has contributed to Johnson having a breakout season. He leads the NFL in yards from scrimmage (1,938) and is 200 receiving yards shy of becoming the third player in NFL history to amass 1,000 yards rushing and receiving.
David Johnson says “yes, sir,” as often as he smiles, and he smiles a lot.
