Since the Cardinals’ claimed RB Michael Carter off of waivers from the Jets last season, he and his shifty, uber-quick running style, has endeared himself to coaches, teammates and fans.
However, during the off-season, Monti Ossenfort made two moves at running back that essentially “boxed out” Michael Carter’s chances of making the Cardinals’ initial 53-man roster. The two moves were signing RB/KR DeeJay Dallas to a 3 year $8.25M contract and using the #66 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft to select All-Amercian RB Trey Benson from Florida St.
One tremendous irony is that Michael Carter was doing cartwheels when he heard the Cardinals drafted Trey Benson because he and Benson are good workout pals.
