A former Arizona Cardinals quarterback announced Wednesday that he is running for the Tempe City Council.
John Skelton, who the Cardinals drafted out of Fordham in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL draft, announced his candidacy in a video on social media.
In the video, Skelton said he decided to make his home in Tempe after his NFL playing days were through.
He started 17 games over three seasons with the Cardinals, who are headquartered in Tempe, and finished with an 8-9 record. He had 15 touchdown passes and 25 interceptions in those three seasons in Arizona.
