Floyd injures hand, may miss start of season

Cardinals receiver Michael Floyd suffered a left hand injury early in Wednesday’s practice, and reportedly is likely to miss the start of the regular season.

Both the NFL Network and CBSsports.com reported that Floyd suffered three broken fingers and will miss around six weeks. That makes it doubtful he could play in the season opener against the Saints on Sept. 13.

While the injury is damaging to the Cardinals, it comes at a position where they have depth. John Brown is the team’s third receiver and the fourth, Jaron Brown, showed improvement last year in his second NFL season.
