The Cardinals are getting an extra draft choice in April.
The NFL announced the 2017 compensatory picks Friday, with the Cardinals adding an extra fifth-round selection – 181st overall, and 36th in the round – to their initial seven picks in the draft.
The Cardinals’ first pick is 13th overall.
Compensatory picks are determined by a formula that takes into account free agents gained and lost the previous offseason, those players’ contracts and their playing time. The extra picks are added at the end of each round
starting in the third round, 32 total.
