Cardinals starting running back Andre Ellington is expected to play against the Chiefs Saturday night in the first preseason game, coach Bruce Arians said on Thursday.
Ellington has missed training camp practices with a hamstring injury, but looked close to full speed in Wednesday’s workout.
“He just needs to get his stamina up, and (we) need to make sure we watch his fatigue level so he doesn’t re-injure it,” Arians said. “But he’s real close to being full speed.”
Among who will miss the game due to injuries are: receiver Michael Floyd, tackle Rob Crisp, running back Marion Grice, running back David Johnson, cornerback Jonte Green, linebacker Darryl Sharpton, linebacker Sean Weatherspoon, safety Chris Clemons, outside linebacker Shaq Riddick, outside linebacker Zack Wagenmann and cornerback Darren Woodard.
