D.J. Humphries wasn’t even close to wrapping up his news conference on Tuesday signifying the new three-year, $45 million contract extension he signed to stay with the Cardinals when the affable left tackle was asked what it feels like to know he’ll probably be in line for another mega deal before he turns 30.
“Man, I really appreciate that,” he said before taking a lengthy pause at the podium from the team’s Tempe training facility. “I’m not ready to process that. I mean, I haven’t even had a steak with the new money yet.”
The steak will have to wait.
