It isn’t often Cardinals coach Bruce Arians hands out game balls to three different players from the same positional unit. It’s even rarer when he does it for three backups.
But that’s what Arians did on Sunday when he presented one each to Rodney Gunter, Xavier Williams and Olsen Pierre following the Cardinals’ 18-15 overtime victory over the 49ers.
When was the last time that’s happened?
“Never,” Arians said Wednesday.
Gunter, Williams and Pierre sounds more like a law firm than a trio of emerging, young NFL defensive linemen. They didn’t combine for any monster statistics against the 49ers, either.
