Cardinals running back David Johnson has yet to be fully cleared from the wrist injury suffered last season, but he’s expected be ready when voluntary “organized team activities” begin on May 15, coach Steve Wilks told reporters on Tuesday at the owners meeting in Orlando.
The news was a bit surprising, because Johnson has said several times in recent weeks that he is fully recovered and has posted video of workouts on social media.
Johnson apparently will not take part in a voluntary minicamp, April 17-19, and other on-field work later that month.
“He’s in the process of getting cleared,” Wilks said on Tuesday, according to azcardinals.
