Darnell Dockett is retiring, and he’s doing it as an Arizona Cardinal.
Dockett is slated to sign a ceremonial contract Monday afternoon at 2:30 p.m., in a press conference alongside team president Michael Bidwill and coach Bruce Arians, to bring to a close an 11-year career that featured three Pro Bowls, 40½ sacks and a Super Bowl appearance.
"It's always bittersweet," Dockett said during an interview Monday with former teammate Bertrand Berry on Arizona Sports 98.7. "Your mind can sustain it, your heart can sustain it, but when your body can't go with the grind, it's like two different things.
