With a large number of players set to become free agents in March, the Cardinals will have some work to do to compile a roster this offseason.
They made a little headway Friday while at the same time keeping a key piece of the defensive line in place when veteran Corey Peters signed a three-year contract extension through the 2020 season.
Terms were not announced.
Peters, 29, hasn’t played the last two games because of an ankle injury, but when he has played has been one of the more underrated parts of the Cardinals’ defense. His stats aren’t eye-popping, with 25 tackles and a sack, but he anchors the middle of the line.
