It isn’t very often that a football player receives a verbal offer from a NCAA Division I program before he even gets to high school.
It’s even rarer when the kid plays a non-glamorous position like center.
But that’s what happened to Evan Boehm, a four-year starter for the University of Missouri who now will take the next step and get a chance to start in the NFL for the Cardinals, who drafted him in the fourth round on Saturday with the 128th overall pick.
“I’m just overwhelmed right now,” Boehm (rhymes with name) said during a conference call with Arizona reporters.
