The Cardinals opened the second round of the draft with a trade to move way up.
But instead of taking a quarterback, it was for a safety.
Moving from the 45th to the 36th pick in a trade with the Bears, the Cards took Washington safety Budda Baker, a ballhawk who is on the smaller side (5-foot-10) but who was one of the top defensive backs available heading into the draft.
Baker joins a secondary which currently has Tyrann Mathieu and newly signed veteran Antoine Bethea as expected starters.
