Roy Green, who started his NFL career as a defensive back before moving to receiver, will be inducted into the Cardinals Ring of Honor during the upcoming season.
A news conference with Green and team President Michael Bidwill is scheduled for Wednesday at 4 p.m. Green will be the 16th member of the Ring of Honor, and the first who played with the team in St. Louis and Arizona.
A fourth-round pick out of Henderson State (Arkansas) in 1979, Green played defensive back his first two seasons with the Cardinals.
Green became a two-way player in 1981, the first “authentic” one in the NFL in more than two decades, according to the team’s media guides.
