The Vikings were a field goal away from playing in a much warmer climate next week.
But kicker Blair Walsh missed a 27-yard field goal in the final seconds, and Seattle won, 10-9, in the NFC Wild Card game at Minneapolis.
If the Vikings had won, they would have played the Cardinals Saturday at University of Phoenix Stadium.
The second-seeded Cardinals will play the winner of the Packers at Washington game on Saturday.
Seattle, the sixth seed, will play at Carolina, the top seed, on Sunday.
The Seahawks (11-6) didn’t score against Minnesota until Russell Wilson’s short touchdown pass to Doug Baldwin early in the fourth quarter, and a fumble by Adrian Peterson for the Vikings on the next possession set up a field goal by Steven Hauschka.
