Some of Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury’s answers in his introductory news conference last week produced only more questions, especially about the process for hiring a coaching staff.
Kingsbury admitted he would rely heavily upon General Manager Steve Keim’s knowledge and connections in the NFL in the hiring of assistant coaches, particularly a defensive coordinator.
That, justifiably, prompted a few alarms, including:
— Bad decisions by Keim contributed to last season’s 3-13 record and the firing of Steve Wilks after one season as coach. Now, the general manager will have even more power?
— Kingsbury, who has never coached in the NFL, was acknowledging he lacked connections at that level?
