The Cardinals brought their roster to the full, 90-man limit on Tuesday, signing former Notre Dame punter Tyler Newsome to a one-year contract.
Newsome, 25, was an undrafted free agent who entered the league with the Chargers in 2019. He also spent time with the Chiefs last season but has not yet appeared in an NFL regular-season game.
Newsome is Notre Dame’s record holder for career punting average and single-game punting average. He averaged 44.0 yards on 225 career punts in college and had 72 punts of 50-plus yards and 75 punts inside the opponent’s 20-yard line.
