In an effort to help keep teams from going over the top on them, offensively, the Cardinals on Tuesday secured two pieces of their potential secondary for next season, including the addition of a player from Down Under.
Along with re-signing safety Chris Clemons before he could become an unrestricted free agent, the team signed Australian Rules football player Joel Wilkinson, who will be trying to make it in the NFL as a cornerback.
Wilkinson, who is 6 feet, 190 pounds, was born in Sydney and spent five years playing Australian Rules (2011-15) before retiring from that sport and moving to Arizona to train for a shot in pro football in the United States.
