As a high school running back in Harrisburg, Pa., Chase Edmonds’ mailbox never filled with letters from colleges, and recruiters never blew up his phone with calls or texts.
So he was happy to accept an offer from Fordham, an FCS school in the Bronx. But in the first week of practice of his freshman season, Edmonds thought that opportunity might be gone, too.
