Cardinals ride second-half outburst to win over Rams

ST. LOUIS – Any Cardinals fans wondering what life would be like without running back Chris Johnson had to feel better after Sunday’s game against the Rams.

Rookie David Johnson and backup Kerwynn Williams overcame potentially embarrassing mistakes to run through a stout Rams defense in the third quarter.

The Cardinals scored twice in the quarter and beat the Rams, 27-3, at the Edward Jones Dome.

The victory was the sixth consecutive for the Cardinals (10-2). It’s the first time since 1974-76 that the franchise has won at least 10 games in three consecutive seasons.

Receiver Larry Fitzgerald caught the 1,000th pass of his career.
