azcentral sports' Kent Somers breaks down the Cardinals' 31-19 win over the Saints in Week 1 of the NFL season.
What we learned on offense
The Cardinals game plan was large and all-encompassing, quarterback Carson Palmer said. That helped coach Bruce Arians save some calls for the second half.
Receiver Larry Fitzgerald, for instance, caught only two passes for 17 yards in the first half. He had four catches for 70 yards in the second half, finding space in the Saints’ zone coverages.
Arians entered the game wanting to throw a screen pass to rookie David Johnson at some point.
