Cardinals' RB monster missing in Week 1

If the Cardinals really have a three-headed monster at the running back position, it must have been hiding under the bed Sunday night because it never showed itself against the visiting New England Patriots.

David Johnson led the way with 16 carries for 89 yards and caught four passes for 43 yards, but according to coach Bruce Arians, “He probably played too much.”

He played a heck of a lot more than the team’s other two backfield weapons, Chris Johnson and Andre Ellington. Chris Johnson carried the ball just once for two yards. Ellington never got the chance to carry the ball.
