What was reported is now official: Arizona Cardinals quarterbacks coach/pass game coordinator Tom Clements has retired. The team listed his retirement as one of the numerous coaching changes on Jan. 25.
Clements, 67, joined the Cardinals coaching staff in January of 2019, shortly after head coach Kliff Kingsbury was hired. Just a few months later, the team drafted quarterback Kyler Murray.
In his first two seasons, Murray threw for 7,693 yards and 26 touchdowns with 24 interceptions. He ran for 1,363 yards and 15 touchdowns, 11 of those in his second season. Murray was the 2019 AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2020.
