The Cardinals have hired Derius Swinton II as their assistant special teams coach, according to a report from Field Yates of ESPN. He will work under Arizona's assistant head coach and special teams coordinator Jeff Rodgers in a role that was previously held by Randall McCray.
Swinton most recently served as a Lions offensive assistant in 2018. He began his coaching career as a defensive graduate assistant at the University of Tennessee, before making the jump to the NFL. He has worked with six different NFL teams since 2009, including two stints with the Bears. His highest title was as a special teams coordinator with the 49ers in 2016.
