According to the man they call “Junk,” pass-rushing statistics are just a pile of a garbage.
“You know, you hear about it from people telling you, but I don’t even look at it. I just keep hunting,” Cardinals outside linebacker Markus Golden said.
Golden, nicknamed “Junkyard Dog” or “Junk” for short, which he prefers, has been on quite the hunting spree. He has at least one quarterback sack in each of Arizona’s first five games – a franchise record to begin a season – and his six sacks overall are tied for third-most in the NFL.
The second-year pro from Missouri doesn’t look as big as his listed measurables – 6-foot-3, 260 pounds – and he doesn’t fit the prototypical build of most elite edge rushers.
