Cardinals Game Day: Gabbert's rough first quarter has Cardinals trailing 16-0

The Cardinals were trailing the Rams, 16-0, at the end of the first quarter in Sunday’s game at University of Phoenix Stadium.

Arizona quarterback Blaine Gabbert threw two interceptions — of them a pick-six to Rams linebacker Alec Ogletree -- as the Cardinals failed to establish any offensive presence.

On the other hand, Rams quarterback Jared Goff scored the game’s first touchdown on a 1-yard pass to receiver Gerald Everett.

Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein also added a 51-yard field goal for the game’s first score, although he missed an extra point on the Goff/Everett touchdown.

Gabbert picked again

Cardinals quarterback Blaine Gabbert was intercepted for the second time in the first quarter, and this one was returned for a touchdown to give the Rams a 16-0 lead over Arizona with 2:45 left in the opening quarter.
