The Cardinals finally found a starting cornerback to pair with perennial Pro Bowl performer Patrick Peterson.
After years of searching and plugging different faces in and out of their starting lineup opposite Peterson, the team on Thursday announced it has signed free-agent veteran cornerback Robert Alford to a three-year contract.
Terms were not disclosed, but according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Alford’s deal is said to be worth $22.5 million in base salary with $13.5 million guaranteed.
Alford, 30, was released by the Falcons on Tuesday after spending six seasons with Atlanta as a second-round pick in the 2013 draft out of Southeastern Louisiana.
