SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Cardinals insisted all last week their contest against the 49ers on Sunday was not a trap game. Those claims seem dubious now because the Cardinals had to gnaw their way out of trouble to win 19-13 at Levi’s Stadium.
Nothing about the victory was easy, including the game-winning drive.
With the game tied at 13, the Cardinals drove from their 15-yard line to the 49ers' 35.
On second and long, quarterback Carson Palmer threw a 34-yard pass to J.J. Nelson, who was tackled at the one.
Then a run play lost a yard.
