Four days after the Cardinals decided to place outside linebacker and special teams ace Dennis Gardeck on season-ending injured reserve, coach Kliff Kingsbury was asked specifically if it was because Gardeck suffered a torn ACL against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15.
“It was a knee injury,” Kingsbury said. “I’m not going to get into the weeds on that deal.”
Well, it turns out it was a torn ACL because Gardeck posted on his Instagram account that he will be undergoing surgery to repair it at some point Tuesday.
That’s significant news considering it means Gardeck won’t be physically available for any offseason workouts this spring, if there are any, and he almost certainly will miss all of training camp later this summer.
