Question marks could be substituted for numbers at many positions on the Cardinals offense, but not so at running back.
On Tuesday, the first day of organized team activities, coach Steve Wilks went out of his way to praise No. 31, David Johnson.
“I don’t want to get too excited,” Wilks said, “but David Johnson, he looked outstanding today. It’s good to have him back on there, just flying around. The things that he’s doing right now, it’s pretty exciting.”
Johnson missed 15 games last season after suffering a dislocated wrist in the first game. That injury left the Cardinals offense without an identity – and a compass – and was a major factor in the team finishing out of the playoffs a second consecutive year.
