New Cardinals coach Steve Wilks retained Byron Leftwich as quarterbacks coach, which means as soon as the Cardinals get some quarterbacks, Leftwich will coach them.
Currently, the Cardinals don’t have a quarterback under contract, which Leftwich admitted is unusual.
“I don’t how often that happens,” Leftwich said.
Wilks introduced Leftwich and other offensive assistants to media on Thursday, and the absence of quarterbacks on the roster was the opposite of the elephant in the room. Everyone was willing to point out this deficiency and ask how Wilks and the Cardinals plan to rectify it.
“A very aggressive” plan to acquire quarterbacks is being formulated, said Wilks, who didn’t reveal specifics.
