It was a nightmarish game that Bene Benwikere wishes he never experienced and yet it was a learning experience the Cardinals cornerback says taught him a lesson and made him a better player.
At the time, however, it must have felt like one of the worst moments of his life.
Playing cornerback for the Panthers, he was torched by Falcons receiver Julio Jones for 12 receptions and 300 yards and a touchdown. Benwikere, a third-year pro at the time, wasn’t responsible for all of the carnage during that 48-33 loss in Week 4 of the 2016 season.
