Cardinals Begin To Cut Down Roster

With 30 rookies set to join the team – six draft picks and 24 undrafted free agents – the Cardinals were going to have to make some cuts to make sure their offseason roster was at the NFL limit of 90

The Cards began that process Tuesday, releasing cornerbacks C.J. Goodwin and Jarell Carter, running back Darius Victor and long snapper Drew Williams. They also waived/injured linebacker Gabe Martin, who tore his Achilles during offseason work.

The Cardinals are still going to have to let another four players go at some point to get to 90, although they have time – the undrafted rookies do not count against the roster until they sign their contracts prior to rookie minicamp next week.
