The Cardinals apparently have found their starting right guard, agreeing to terms on a one-year contract with Evan Mathis, an 11-year veteran who spent last season with the Broncos.
Terms were not released, but the NFL Network reported the deal is worth $6 million.
Mathis, 34, has made the Pro Bowl twice.
The Cardinals were searching for a guard even before trading Jonathan Cooper to the Patriots on Tuesday.
The Cardinals have scheduled a news conference for 2:15 Wednesday to introduce outside linebacker Chandler Jones, obtained in that trade with New England.
