When asked if his team’s upcoming game with St. Louis stirred bad memories of the Cardinals’ last meeting with the Rams, Carson Palmer looked confused.
“What happened last time we played them?”
No need to call the neurologist. That’s classic dry wit by the quarterback, who is well aware of his season-ending ACL injury last November and the team’s subsequent 3-5 record.
There is a valuable message in that exchange: Temporary amnesia should be the team’s bedfellow for the remainder of the season.
Got that, Cardinals?
No dwelling on last season.
No jubilation about a 3-0 start.
