At the crossroads, Part II: Time for the Cardinals to put more emphasis on the run game?

It was a year ago this week, after a lot of grousing and grumbling by members of the offensive line and some private moments between their position coach, Sean Kugler, and head coach Kliff Kingsbury, that the Cardinals decided they needed to make a change.

Simply put, they vowed to put a decisive emphasis on running the football.

After a season-opening tie and three straight losses, they responded with 266 rushing yards to beat the Bengals 26-23, opening the floodgates for the first of three consecutive wins – mostly because of a revived rushing attack.

Flash forward to this year and following back-to-back losses to the Lions and Panthers, the Cardinals (2-2) appear to be at those very same crossroads as they prepare for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets (0-4) at MetLife Stadium.
