At Cardinals' camp, where there's 'Smoke,' there's 'Fire'

You’ve heard the expression “where there’s smoke, there’s fire.”

That’s the case at Cardinals training camp, and it centers around two of the team’s breathtakingly fast young wide receivers, second-year pro John Brown and rookie J.J. Nelson.

The Cardinals call Brown “Smoke” because of his blazing speed, even though that’s not why he originally got the name. But Nelson, whom the team has nicknamed “Fire,” might even be faster. The fifth-round pick has run the 40 in a blistering 4.28 seconds and, hoping to duplicate what Brown did last year as a rookie, he’s been shadowing “Smoke” wherever he goes and whatever he does in camp.
