Another Arizona Cardinals player earns NFC Player of the Week Honors
A week after Larry Fitzgerald and David Johnson were named Offensive and Special Teams Players of the Week in the NFC comes the honor for safety Tyrann Mathieu who picks up the Defensive Player of the Week honor with two interceptions of the 49ers Colin Kaepernick, one returned for a touchdown in the first quarter on Sunday.
Mathieu, who also had five combined tackles in the game, is the first Cardinals player to take home the Defensive honor since Patrick Peterson, a fellow LSU alum, took it in Week 10 last season.
