The Arizona Cardinals announced they have signed free-agent linebacker Matt Longacre to a one-year deal, adding some valuable depth to the roster upon the entire team reporting to training camp on Wednesday.
Longacre, 27, spent the past four seasons with the Rams, where he appeared in 38 games (eight starts) and totaled 57 tackles along with 6½ sacks as well as one fumble recovery and one forced fumble.
Longacre entered the league with the Rams as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Northwest Missouri State in 2015. He had a career-high 5½ sacks in 2017 and started seven games for the Rams last season.
