Arizona Cardinals sign linebacker Joe Walker off the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad

The Cardinals announced Wednesday they have signed linebacker Joe Walker off the Eagles’ practice squad.

Walker played in 12 games for the Super Bowl champions last season, making three starts. He finished with 10 tackles and had one pass breakup.

A seventh-round pick out of Oregon in 2016, Walker spent his entire rookie season on injured reserve because a knee issue.

Walker fills the spot on the Cardinals’ activate 53-man roster that was vacated when the team released defensive tackle Garrison Smith on Tuesday.

The Cardinals are short on depth at linebacker and on special teams because of a left foot/ankle injury suffered by reserve Dennis Gardeck.
