As the 2019 football season approaches we continue our Cardinals position-by-position series:
Today: Linebackers
This is one of the more intriguing positional groups overall for the Cardinals in that it has the potential to be dynamic and become the pillar of strength for the defense and yet, it might also end up being their weak link.
The latter will happen if oft-injured middle linebacker Jordan Hicks can’t stay healthy and fellow inside linebacker Haason Reddick, who’s been moved all over the place, shows periods of regression in yet another new role.
Hicks has missed 13 games the past two seasons because of Achilles and calf injuries and needs to stay on the field to be the explosive, three-down 'backer the Cardinals can rely on as both a run stopper and a pass defender.
