The Cardinals have released four players, including wide receiver Hakeem Butler, their fourth-round pick a year ago out of Iowa State.
Also released on Friday were defensive lineman Miles Brown, an undrafted rookie who appeared in nine games last season in addition to spending time on Arizona’s practice squad, offensive lineman Sam Jones and punter Ryan Winslow.
Additionally, the Cardinals waived/injured offensive lineman Brett Toth (hamstring).
The big news, however, was releasing the 6-foot-5 Butler, whom the team had hoped could bounce back this year after missing all of his rookie season because of a finger injury he suffered in a preseason game.
