The Cardinals have released center Lamont Gaillard, their sixth-round pick out of Georgia in 2019.
Gaillard played in 13 games the past two seasons, including two starts, and was thought to be in the mix for a full-time starting role until the team acquired three-time Pro Bowl performer Rodney Hudson in a trade with the Raiders in March.
Shortly after landing Hudson, the Cardinals traded center Mason Cole to the Vikings. Cole and Gaillard were the top two candidates for the starting center job until Hudson’s arrival. Hudson’s primary backups at this point are veteran Max Garcia and rookie Michal Menet, a seventh-round draft pick from Penn State.
